Wittman Supports JOBS Act

Bill receives overwhelming bipartisan support, passing the U.S. House 390-23

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Representative Rob Wittman (VA-1) today voted in favor of the JOBS Act, which passed the U.S. House with overwhelming bipartisan support. The JOBS (Jumpstart Our Business Startups) Act is a legislative package of six bills designed to jumpstart the economy and job growth by removing regulations currently inhibiting growth by small businesses and start-ups. These bipartisan measures will increase capital formation, spur the growth of startups and small businesses, and pave the way for more small-scale businesses to go public and create more jobs. Wittman released the following statement:

"The recovery of our economy remains job one for Congress, and I'm pleased to support this legislation removing burdensome government regulations and barriers for start-ups and small businesses," Wittman said. "Innovators, entrepreneurs and the brilliant minds across this country will lead our nation to economic recovery and the government must simply get out of the way. It is a great day when Congress can actually come together to support legislation to get our economy moving. I urge the Senate to swiftly pass this package of common-sense legislation."
