Wittman Statement on the Fifth Anniversary of Virginia Tech Tragedy

Monday, April 16, 2012

Washington, DC – Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-1) released the following statement marking the fifth anniversary of the tragedy at Virginia Tech:

"Those lost at Virginia Tech on this day five years ago are not forgotten, and we continue to be inspired by the resiliency of those who survived and live on to tell their story and help others," Wittman said. "As a Hokie graduate, I am humbled and especially proud to be a part of the Hokie community, which came together that day and in the time following the senseless tragedy to comfort each other, to provide critical support, and to seek justice and peace as a community. We continue to keep the families of those lost, and those affected by this sobering event, in our thoughts and prayers."

Congressman Rob Wittman represents the First District of Virginia. He serves on the House Natural Resources Committee and the House Armed Services Committee where he is the Chairman of the Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee.
