Wittman Statement on Afghanistan Strategy

WASHINGTON - Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-01) Rep Rob Wittman (VA-1), Chairman of the Seapower and Projection Forces Subcommittee made the following statement on President Trump's strategy for Afghanistan.

"I support the Trump Administration's announcement to renew our commitment to U.S. operations in Afghanistan. I am confident the strategy he laid out will set our forces up for success and protect vital U.S. interests in the area. We must ensure that terrorists will no longer be able to use Afghanistan as a haven to attack the United States. I am looking forward to working with my colleagues in the House to make sure our troops are prepared with the tools they need to be successful in their mission-including providing adequate funding levels."

Congressman Rob Wittman represents the 1st District of Virginia. He serves on the House Natural Resources Committee and the House Armed Services Committee, where he is the Chairman of the Seapower and Projection Forces Subcommittee.
