Wittman, Secretary Duffy Host Transportation Roundtable
Chesterfield, VA – Today, Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-01) hosted a roundtable with Department of Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy. Congressman Wittman and Secretary Duffy were joined by local stakeholders to discuss transportation projects in Virginia’s First District.
“It was an honor to welcome Secretary Duffy to the First District for a conversation about transportation infrastructure,” said Rep. Wittman. “We discussed the Powhite Parkway Extension and the importance of investing in transportation projects that improve connectivity and safety. It is critical that we continue to work together to advance the infrastructure in our district and ensure that Virginians have access to safe, reliable, and convenient roads.”
Background:
Earlier this year, Congressman Wittman presented Chesterfield County with an $8 million check for the Powhite Parkway Extension Phase II. This Community Project Funding request was secured in the Fiscal Year 2026 Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies Act and signed into law on February 3rd. The funding will provide for the completion of the parkway expansion between Woolridge Road and U.S. Route 360 — connecting Chesterfield county to the Richmond area and expanding economic opportunities for residents. Congressman Wittman is proud to bring tax dollars back home for district-specific priorities.
