Wittman Brings Together Key Stakeholders and Lawmakers on I-95 Transportation Roundtable

WASHINGTON – Yesterday, Congressman Wittman (VA-01) partnered with the Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce to host a Transportation Roundtable with members of the Virginia Congressional Delegation and local stakeholders to discuss critical transportation issues facing Northern Virginia, mainly the I-95 corridor.

"As a daily commuter from Montross to Washington, D.C., I often experience the debilitating congestion on I-95," Wittman said. "The men and women of Virginia's First District spend countless hours in transit, whether on the railways or the roadways, and they are ready for reform. Transportation funding is the number one issue that I hear about from both business owners and community leaders from Prince William County to Fredericksburg. I want to thank my Virginia colleagues and the Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce for their dedication to this issue. As we work to rebuild our nation's infrastructure, I hope we prioritize a bipartisan solution to our region's transportation needs."

"This meeting was another step in our continued battle to fight for our transportation crisis," said Susan Spears, President and CEO of the Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce. "We appreciate our officials willingness to discuss solutions with the business community."

Wittman was joined by Senator Kaine, Representative Brat, and several members of the Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce. Members of the following organizations were also present: the Regional Transportation Action Committee, the Fredericksburg Area Metropolitan Planning Organization, LifeCare Medical Transports, Atlantic Builders, The University of Mary Washington, Closet Interiors Plus, The Free Lance-Star, Hilldrup Moving and Storage, The Title Professionals, and PermaTreat.
