VIDEO RELEASE: Rob Wittman: Honoring Our Nation's Veterans (Veterans' Day 2011)
WASHINGTON, DC – In observance of Veterans' Day, Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-1) today released a video expressing his thanks on behalf of America's First District, to the veterans of the United States.
"Our debt to the heroic men and valiant women in the service of our country can never be repaid. They have earned our undying gratitude. America will never forget their sacrifices." -President Harry S. Truman, an inscription at the World War II Memorial in Washington, DC.

"Some folks volunteered, some enlisted, and some were even drafted.
"Our veterans, over the course of this nation's history willingly, bravely and honorably served our nation. That's a tremendous, tremendous sacrifice.
"They saw and did things that were incredibly courageous, incredibly brave and they did that most basically for our country- but also for their friends and their family- but most basically to preserve our freedoms and liberties that we enjoy today.
"And we take veterans day to take the time to thank those and to honor those that served our nation, that gave of themselves and – the giving of their family – to ensure our freedoms and liberties. So I hope all of us take the time to recognize that service and sacrifice.
"May God bless our men and women who served this nation, and their families, on this great day of recognition."

Congressman Rob Wittman represents the First District of Virginia. He serves on the House Natural Resources Committee and the House Armed Services Committee where he is the Chairman of the Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee.
