WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-01) issued the following statement:

"Based on August's dismal jobs report, our economic recovery is way off course. Month after month, our economy continues to disappoint expectations. And it just keeps getting worse. The August jobs report is the weakest jobs report of Joe Biden's presidency. Despite 10.5 million job openings, 8.4 million Americans remain unemployed. Inflation continues to skyrocket, crushing working-class families. President Biden is squandering the economic recovery he inherited. Everyone in the United States of America and the Commonwealth of Virginia deserves an economy that is pro-growth, pro-family, and most of all, pro-American. I remain committed to building this economy and hope to see President Biden do the same."
