November 11, 2009: Congressman Wittman Statement on Veterans Day

Wednesday, November 11, 2009
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Congressman Rob Wittman released the following statement in recognition of Veterans Day:

"Since 1776 our Nation's citizens and their families have continued to answer the call to serve and protect our shores and our values at home and abroad. Today, these brave service men and women maintain this tradition in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and elsewhere around the globe. At a time when our Nation mourns the loss of 13 of our own at Ft. Hood in Texas, now more than ever should we take pause, remember those who have fallen, and thank all those who have honorably worn the Nation's uniform and recognize the continued support of their families."

Congressman Rob Wittman represents the First District of Virginia. He was elected to his first full term in November 2008 and serves on the Natural Resources Committee and the Armed Services Committee where he is the Ranking Member of the Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee.
