February 11, 2008: Congressman Rob Wittman's Statement on the Passing of Congressman Tom Lantos

(Washington D.C.) - Congressman Rob Wittman (R-VA) released the following statement on the passing of Congressman Tom Lantos (D-CA):

"I was saddened to learn that Congressman Lantos had passed away this morning. As a member of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, I had the privilege of working with Chairman Lantos over the last few months and I have been impressed with his leadership as chair of the committee. His historic role as the only Holocaust survivor to serve in the Congress brought a unique perspective to our deliberations, particularly those dealing with genocide throughout the world. My thoughts and prayers are with his family today."
