Did You Know?

Friend-

I grew up enjoying the natural wonders of the Chesapeake Bay and know countless people, including my son, who make their living on the water. Since I came to Congress, I have fought to clean up the Bay. I even wrote bipartisan legislation to restore the Bay that was signed into law by President Obama.

However, I wanted to make sure you knew about my latest work to protect the Bay.

Earlier this year, when the President's Budget slashed funding for the program, I immediately joined a letter to the administration explaining how critical the Bay is to our region and economy. Throughout the budget process, I stayed involved in negotiations and continued to advocate against cutting funding for a program that has proven to be effective at cleaning up the Bay.

Following all of my work, the recent omnibus spending bill fully funded the Chesapeake Bay Program. The $73 million in funding will go towards protecting, restoring, and managing the watershed.

Fully funding the Chesapeake Bay Program is a critical victory I am proud to have fought for. Know that I will continue to be a leading voice for the Bay.

It's an honor to serve you and Virginia's First District in the People's House.

Sincerely,

Rob
