Wittman sworn in to 117th Congress, vows to ‘work tirelessly’ for Virginians

WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-01) issued the following statement after officially being sworn in to the 117th Congress:

“The past Congress, while divided in our political viewpoints and stalled in the quagmire of partisan posturing, accomplished much for the American people, during some of the most difficult times in our history: unprecedented pandemic relief legislation for small businesses and hardworking individuals, bipartisan and bicameral support for our armed forces and their families, investments in expanding rural broadband access and improvements to our nation’s infrastructure, and much more.

“As we look down our long road to recovery, there is still much to be done, and much more to be done to ensure we get our nation’s fiscal house in order. I am honored to be returning as the representative for the First District of Virginia in the 117th Congress and I will continue to work tirelessly on the issues that matter most to my constituents.

“We must continue our work on improving our economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, further expanding broadband access, ensuring our military has the resources it needs to defend the homeland, further promoting workforce development through CTE/STEM programs, protecting our natural resources for future generations, solving our transportation and infrastructure issues, and better providing our Veterans with the benefits they have earned. I am committed to getting things done for the First District and will continue fighting for local priorities.”

Congressman Rob Wittman represents the 1st District of Virginia. He serves on the House Natural Resources Committee and the House Armed Services Committee.
