Wittman-sponsored Sportsmen's Legislation Passes Committee

WASHINGTON – Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-1) released the following statement today after the House Natural Resources Committee today passed the Sportsmen's Heritage and Recreational Enhancement (SHARE) Act (H.R. 2406), which Wittman introduced with his fellow Congressional Sportsmen’s Caucus (CSC) Co-Chair, Tim Walz (MN-1), as well as CSC Vice-Chairs Congressmen Jeff Duncan (SC-3) and Gene Green (TX-29):

“The SHARE Act is a bipartisan package full of provisions critical for preserving our sporting heritage, and I am pleased that the Natural Resources Committee advanced it today following a substantive debate. I am eager for the full House to consider this legislation, and I will continue working with my Congressional Sportsmen’s Caucus colleagues on behalf of our sportsmen and women.

“I also look forward to a measured debate through regular order in the Natural Resources Committee on additional conservation measures. Among these are the Sportsmen’s Conservation Act, a bill I have sponsored that extends important programs like the North American Wetlands Conservation Act, and a stand-alone reauthorization of the Land and Water Conservation Fund, a program that I have supported in the past and which I believe deserves the Committee’s full attention.”

Congressman Rob Wittman represents the 1st District of Virginia. He serves on the House Natural Resources Committee and the House Armed Services Committee, where he is Chairman of the Readiness Subcommittee.
