Wittman to Join President Trump at Newport News Shipyard

On Thursday, March 2, Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-01), Chairman of the House Armed Services Subcommittee on Seapower and Projection Forces, will travel to Newport News Shipyard with President Donald J. Trump to meet with service members and shipbuilders and view the soon-to-be-commissioned USS Gerald R. Ford aircraft carrier.

President Trump will deliver remarks aboard the USS Gerald R. Ford.

On today's visit, Rep. Wittman said, "I look forward to joining President Trump for his first visit to Newport News Shipyard. He will get to see first-hand the great work being done there and hear how important yards like the one at Newport News are to our Navy and to our national security. President Trump has expressed a strong commitment to rebuilding out military, particularly our Navy, and I support him in that effort."

Congressman Rob Wittman represents the 1st District of Virginia. He serves on the House Natural Resources Committee and the House Armed Services Committee, where he is the Chairman of the Seapower and Projection Forces Subcommittee.
