Dear Friends and Neighbors, This year, the Working Families Tax Cuts is set to deliver meaningful savings for you and your family, putting more money back in the pockets of hardworking Virginians this tax season. With the passage of the Working Families Tax Cuts, the middle 60 percent of earners will see the biggest increases in after-tax income, while the top 20 percent of earners will carry a greater share of the income-tax burden — ensuring relief goes where it’s needed most. This tax season, you can expect bigger refunds and lower withholdings. Preliminary analyses indicate an extra $1,000 per eligible filer in the 2026 season, with taxpayers overall seeing about $191 billion in net new tax relief nationwide. This will put real savings into households across the First District. You can expect more stability. The doubled standard deduction and the lower tax rates from the 2017 tax framework will be made permanent, and reforms like no tax on tips, no tax on overtime, and no tax on Social Security mean more of your hard-earned money will go home with you.  You can expect more support for your family. The Child Tax Credit will be boosted to $2,200 and indexed to inflation. Furthermore, access to childcare tax relief and the paid leave tax credit will be expanded and made permanent — making childcare more affordable and accessible. The bottom line is: You can expect to keep more of what you earn. In Congress, I’m focused on delivering meaningful, lasting relief for hardworking Americans — waitresses, welders, seniors, parents, business owners, and everyone striving to get ahead. Dear Friends and Neighbors,

This year, the Working Families Tax Cuts is set to deliver meaningful savings for you and your family, putting more money back in the pockets of hardworking Virginians this tax season.

The bottom line is: You can expect to keep more of what you earn. In Congress, I’m focused on delivering meaningful, lasting relief for hardworking Americans — waitresses, welders, seniors, parents, business owners, and everyone striving to get ahead.

Sincerely,

Rob Wittman

Member of Congress, Virginia’s 1st District
