Dear Friends and Neighbors,
As someone who lives in the Northern Neck, I know firsthand that reliable, accessible broadband is not a luxury — it’s a necessity for our rural communities.
During my time in Congress and as a Co-Chair of the Rural Broadband Caucus, I have been a staunch advocate for expanding broadband access so that our rural communities aren’t left behind in an increasingly digital and connected world. High-speed, reliable internet connection ensures every Virginian has the chance to succeed.
Last month, I went out in the field with All Points Broadband — a Richmond-based rural broadband provider focused on bringing access to underserved areas of Virginia and nearby states — to talk to folks in the community about broadband innovation, challenges, opportunities, and updates.
What I heard was clear: we must work to identify ways states and localities can partner with the federal government to better focus resources on underserved areas. We must also ensure that resources are targeted effectively and that we deliver results where they are needed most. Bridging the digital divide between urban and rural America remains a top priority of mine.
When broadband is reliable and affordable, families can access telemedicine, students can participate in online education, and our small businesses can compete in the 21st century. We owe it to our rural communities to ensure they have the tools they need to thrive. I will continue working with my colleagues at every level of government to expand access, improve affordability, and deliver real results for Virginia’s First District.
Sincerely,

Rob Wittman
Member of Congress, Virginia’s 1st District
