Washington,
July 25, 2017
Wittman Announces Senior Staff Changes WASHINGTON -- Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-01) today announced several changes to the senior staff in his Washington, D.C. office. Wittman's long-time Chief of Staff, Jamie Miller, started work yesterday at the Pentagon as the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for House Affairs. In that role Miller will act as a liaison between the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) and key members and committees in the House of Representatives. "We are sad to see Jamie leave Team Wittman but we are excited for her to continue to serve in this new role," Wittman said. "Jamie's knowledge, expertise, and professionalism will be an immediate asset to the Pentagon's legislative affairs office.” On her departure Miller said, "I first interned at the Pentagon 20 years ago and I am excited for the opportunity to return to serve the Department of Defense. It is a bittersweet departure from the Hill after almost nine years with Rep. Rob Wittman and more than three years with Rep. J. Randy Forbes. The best part about working on the Hill has been the honor of serving with extraordinary people who are dedicated to public service. I am excited for the new opportunities that await and leave Team Wittman in good hands." With Miller's departure, Carolyn King, formerly Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations, has been promoted to the role of Chief of Staff. Brent Robinson, previously Rep. Wittman's Legislative Director, will become Deputy Chief of Staff, continuing to direct Congressman Wittman's legislative and policy agenda. Congressman Rob Wittman represents the 1st District of Virginia. He serves on the House Natural Resources Committee and the House Armed Services Committee, where he is the Chairman of the Seapower and Projection Forces Subcommittee. # # # |
