Applying pro-life principles to health care reform
Like you, I am a strong defender of life and I am proud of my pro-life voting record in the House.
I wanted to take a moment to update you on my continued work to uphold the values and principles in which we all believe.
As you know, Congress is working to replace the Affordable Care Act with patient-centered reforms that will increase access to care, expand health care choices for Americans, and lower costs. A key provision in the House-passed American Health Care Act (AHCA) included specific prohibitions against funding abortion under any current and future tax credit program put in place by the bill.
But we must ensure that the Senate upholds those prohibitions as they consider ACA replacement legislation. So I joined 70 of my colleagues in a letter to key senators urging them to prioritize pro-life principles in any health care bill that comes to the Senate floor.
You can read the full letter by clicking here.
Rest assured I will continue my strong support for life as your voice in Congress.
It's an honor to serve you and Virginia's First District in the People's House.
